We had £16 880 of Sports/PE Premium funding for 2025-26, and spent it as follows:
£500 on training for staff in using our new orienteering resource
£2 280 on providing extra-curricular activities for the children. Through Reds in the Community, we ran a sports club for infant children after school on Mondays, and a football club for junior girls on Fridays
£3 435 on equipment and resources. We had our new orienteering resource installed, and also built new storage for our loose parts equipment, which helps our children play creatively and actively during break times
£800 on membership and subscription fees. This gives us access to sporting tournaments and events through our local School Games Organiser (SGO), and via provision arranged through a neighbouring secondary school
£600 on attending activities away from school, some of which were organised by our SGO
£9 690 on coaching staff. Through Reds in the Community, we supplemented our teaching staff to (1) ensure Games lessons were of a high standard, (2) provide BUSS-style support for younger children who needed additional help with developing their core strength and (3) provide small group activities, again mostly for younger children, to help them develop their confidence in physical activities on top of their whole-class Games lessons
By the end of the 2025-26 academic year, our Year 6 children were assessed as
- 92% could swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of 25 metres
- 92% could use a range of strokes
- 92% could perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations
