Stuart and Timmy the Tin Visit Us!

Today, we were very excited to welcome Stuart and his special friend, Timmy the Tin, into school to talk to us about the local foodbank and the importance of helping others in our community.

Stuart reminded us that Harvest is a special time of year to be grateful for the farmers who work hard to grow and produce the food we enjoy. We talked about how lucky we are to have food to eat and how we can show our gratitude by thinking about people who may need a little extra support.

Stuart also explained how foodbanks help families and individuals in our local community. We learned that children can help too, by bringing in any spare, unopened food from home to donate.

Foodbanks particularly appreciate donations such as:

🍝 Pasta and rice
🥣 Cereals
🍪 Biscuits
🥫 Tinned meat and fish
🧃 Long-life juice and milk
🍅 Pasta sauce
☕ Tea and coffee
🧴 Toiletries and household essentials
