July Music Evening

We held our final Music Evening of the year after school yesterday.

Despite the heat, the children knocked it out of the park one last time for the 25-26 academic year, as they closed the summer term off with a final show of musical entertainment.

We had keyboard players, guitarists, drummers and singers perform a range of pieces, from solos to ensembles, with some children playing to backing tracks whilst others played entirely live.  There was a great selection for the audience to enjoy, from classic Abba through 90's alternative rock with REM's "It's the End of the World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)" to more modern cuts such as "As It Was" and "Sunflower".

We are very grateful to our terrific audience, who turned up in great numbers and stayed through to the end despite it being the hottest part of the day.

Several of our musicians now move on to secondary school, where we hope they'll continue to enjoy playing, and we wish them all the best for September.  We look forward to working with this year's players again in the new school year - there is much more great music to come!
